Please follow the instructions below to create a user account on the IRS website that will allow you to provide information regarding the Economic Impact Payment(s) received in 2020 and 2021.
If applicable, you will need to create a separate account for you and your spouse.

Step 1: Go to the IRS Your Online Account page and choose the button Sign in to your Online Account.
Step 2: Click “ID.me Create an account” if you do not already have an IRS account, or log in if you do.
Skip to Step 17 if you already have an IRS account after logging in (you will have to verify with code with Multi-Factor Authentication).
Step 3: Create an ID.me account by entering your email and a password. Then click “Create an ID.me account.”
Step 4: Click “Continue” on the Continuing to the Internal Revenue Service page.
Step 5: You will receive an email from ID.me. Confirm your email by clicking “Confirm your email” in the email or by entering the code provided in the email. Then click “Continue” on the Confirm Your Email Address page.
Step 6: Set up multifactor authentication by selecting one of the options. (Text messages or phone calls are generally the easiest.) Select an option and follow instructions. Helpful Information: Use a cellphone number for multifactor authorization now this will make Steps 11-13 much easier later.
Step 7: Click “Generate Recovery Code.” A recovery code will pop up, write it down on a piece of paper, or click the copy button to paste it to a word document. This code will help you access your account in case of future login issues occur in the future.
Step 8: Continue on the Verify Your Identity. Choose a verification method.
Step 9: Consent to ID.me to collect biometric data. Check the box to acknowledge and click “Continue.”
Step 10: Choose how to submit photos.
Step 11: Enter your phone number to send a link to take the photos from your phone and click “Continue.” (Do NOT close the web browser as you will be going back to it after using your phone to verify your identity) Same number as Step 6.
Step 12: Click the link sent to your phone and follow instructions on how to take the pictures.
Step 13: Follow the next steps to grant permission to use your webcam on your phone to scan your face for verification/authentication. You will click “Scan my face” on the next screen. After this, it will tell you to return to the original web browser you were using.
Step 14: ID.me will compare the selfie with the images you took. When this is done, you will enter your DOB and SSN and click “Continue.”
Step 15: Verify the information provided is correct, check the box, and click “Continue.”
Step 16: Click “Allow.”
Step 17: You are now at your account home page.
Click “View Tax Records” to print information regarding Advanced Child Tax Credit payments and Economic Impact Payments. This page will show the amount associated with your social security number for the Economic Impact Payments for 2020 and 2021. Click the + next to the year you are requesting. For 2021, if you are MFJ, the amount shown will be the combined amount for both spouses. For 2020, it will only be for the individual (you will have to do this for both spouses to get the total amount for MFJ taxpayers)
Please print this page (one for you and your spouse, If applicable) and provide it to Axley & Rode with your 2021 tax information.
